San Diego, Calif — Adyton, a veteran-owned, venture-backed, American Public Benefit Corporation, won the Tribe 2019A Pitch Competition hosted by Veterans in Residence (ViR), a partnership between WeWork and Bunker Labs.
Adyton’s winning business pitch focused on delivering secure mobile solutions through sophisticated software engineering, opening up a world in which the adaptability of operators is matched by the versatility of their communications stack.
Bunker Labs gives veterans and military spouses support to build a business, including full WeWork membership privileges and complimentary workspace for six months. With 18 units nationwide, they have cohorts, known as “tribes,” who ultimately compete for the best business pitch.
Adyton was recognized as part of Tribe 2019A’s San Diego cohort. Adyton’s winning pitch included early-stage plans to launch a secure application infrastructure using cryptography to collect, exchange, manipulate and analyze sensitive information.
“This recognition is a real honor for us, and the ViR program is a great way for veterans and entrepreneurs to connect and build the kind camaraderie we often miss when we step out of uniform,” said James Boyd, co-founder & CEO of Adyton. “We are excited about the opportunity to put ourselves out there and to learn about what others are creating, giving and getting honest feedback, constructive criticism and also just to spend time around other vets with meaningful shared experience.”
As former Special Forces operators, Boyd and his fellow co-founder, J.J. Wilson, are building a team that is passionate about enabling defense, intelligence and law enforcement communities to deploy effective mobile technologies in both training and tactical environments. Adyton’s platform has been engineered from the ground up to exceed DoD’s security and compliance protocols.
With a mobile-first approach, the Defense Department can streamline day-to-day operations for distributed teams while communicating in real-time. This transformational capability will help the department increase operational readiness, retain talent, and leverage data.
